This month we feature a question from one of our - they ask:

"Hey guys, I'm a student from Slovakia who wants to apply for study in the UK. Since Slovakia is a member of the EU, UK universities accept Slovak "Vysvedcenie o maturitnej skuske" as an equivalent exam to A-level. However, I have not been successful in finding out what is the equivalent for the GCSE exams (and whether there is one) although most universities do require certain GCSE grades (often from subjects that are not even slightly related to the course I want to study). Does anybody know what is the equivalent of GCSE for Slovakia (or EU/world countries in general) or how the universities handle EU students who don't have GCSE equivalent exams in their home countries?"

If you would like to help out and answer their question, or join in the conversation and post your own questions and answers - please see our .

With the release and huge success of our iPhone/ iPad app for students that want to study in the USA, our fun site of the month is all geared towards finding and discovering new apps for your smart phone. has a wealth of information to help you discover new apps that come into the iTunes store. One great feature in particular is the "Apps gone free" segement, which is updated each day with apps that have gone on sale for free for a short period! An excellent resource and a great way to save money when apps go free!
