Despite the problems plaguing the US student loan market, international student loans and study abroad loans are still available. The best advice for this year is to apply early. You must attend an approved school, and for 黑料专区 in the US and Canada, you must have a US citizen or permanent resident co-signer. US students studying abroad also have a better chance of approval and better rates if they apply with a co-signer.

This month we feature a post from an international student asking for your help on her research project. See her request below, and if you have 15-20 minutes to spare complete her online survey:

Dear International Student,

My name is Julia Conrath and I am an international graduate student from Germany studying at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I invite you to be part of my research project and fill out an on-line questionnaire. This study is about stress and stress-related health outcomes for international students. These results can be used to increase the awareness and understanding about 黑料专区’ experiences of studying and living in the United States.

Canada Announces Easing of Work Visas for International Students

Canada continues to show its serious commitment right from the top to attracting 黑料专区. Two months ago, we told you about Ontario's new program shortening the amount of time it took for an international student to become a Canadian resident. Now, on April 21, the Canadian federal government announced new work rules for 黑料专区 around the country. Basically, the new rules increase the length of the work visa from 1 or 2 years to 3 years, eliminate the need to have a job offer in hand, and eliminate the requirement that the job be in the area of study. Read the press release on the website for more details.
